Michael Jackson ” The King Of Pop” Though My Eyes

Through my eyes is just like it sounds, a look at an artist through my eyes. Everyone has their own opinion and this is mine.

Since I could remember, I was singing songs from Michael Jackson. My mother listened to motown, as I would listened and danced along with her. The Jackson 5 stood out to a kid, because I was a kid. I remember, waiting up at my aunts house to watch Motown 25, dancing and singing them too. But one act I really wanted to see was MJ’s solo. The Thriller Album had been out for a few months and like the Off The Wall album I had every word memorized to every song. Once MJ hit the stage It was magic. I knew he could dance he danced all the time but for some reason this was different. It was when Michael solidified him self as one of the musical Elite.

Thriller was a world record breaking album but in my opinion Bad his follow up album was even better. MJ would put out Dangerous, History, Invincible, & This is it. I enjoyed each and every album though out the time. Hit after hit. He not only changed the Music Video world as mini feature movies, Super Bowl performances were changed to a production because of him. And caring for the human race was magnified by him. He wrote We Are World after winning a record of grammys, that night right after and recorded it with all that would follow him to the studio. Heal the world, man in the mirror, made people think of others. I know i did and still do.

Michael’s music had me paying attention to lyrics. I learned about a Song writer Rod Temprton wrote MJ Ballads and the rap for Vincent Price in Thriller. And I learned to dance through imitating and coping Michael’s moves. I’d try to sing like him. He influenced my world for sure. I was able to see him in concert once the only time He came to Denver Colorado since I was alive. It was for the Victory Tour, my very first concert at Mile High to see The Thriller tour. I know I said the Victory Tour and it was and also since Michael was so self less he gave up his own tour for family. It was amazing and I still have that ticket stub from 36 years ago. So to say here are a few of my favorite hits from Michael Jackson, would be too many. It being I have 60 songs from the man on my phone’s playlist. So here is a quick look at MJ songs that I love so much.

I love music and it's lyrics, my song writing days are still in me. Just a little more poetic now.

  1. I first noticed Michael Jackson’s music when his song, “Rock With You,” first came out. I was an eight-year-old little girl laying in the hospital after a horrific car accident. Because I was in traction and couldn’t get out of bed, the only things to do was watching tv, listening to the stereo, drawing, writing, art, ect. I wasn’t a tv person so I listening to the radio a lot. When I heard MJ, I fell in love- INSTANTLY! “Rock with You.” was my favorite and from there on out, I had my dad and grandmothers buy me Michael Jackson tapes and albums for Christmas and Birthdays. I stayed away from MJ for a while when Prince got my attention, but as I got older, I made room for him again. I was saddened when he passed and now, I’m not sure if maybe his death wasn’t deliberate. The media had really torn him apart his last years. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE his music!
